| 内容記述 | "I believe that education is an essential factor when people try to realize dreams of peace, liberty and social justice. Education is a ceaseless process in enriching knowlege and technology, and at the same time it is, even more inportantly, an unparalleled means of building one's character as well as his or her relationship with others. From this point of view, there have been a countless nunber of educators who have developed a superb education in Japan. One of them is Mr. Hideya Kondo (He came from Sawauti Village of Iwate Prefecture.), the first principal at Kobe Third Junior High. His achievements have given us great wisdom even in this 21st century. The key point of his educational practice was ""education for the whole man."" By introducing his new ideas, such as ""Class society"", called ""Homeroom"" today, ""Parents Executive Committee"", called ""the School Councilor System"" today and ""Enrichment of teacher trainings"" which were all epoch-making in his time, he practiced students-centered school education in order to cultivate the human spirit of his students. We are now facing new waves of educational reform. For instance, ""The Integrated Cooperative Junior and High School Education System"", ""The New Couse of Study"", ""The Five-day Week School System"" and ""Change from Relative Evaluation"" have already been introduced. We are also facing serious educational issues including ""bullying"" and truancy. In keeping with this present situation in education and its issues, I would like to give my opinions on how school in the new age shoud be." | |||||||||||
